Android 5.1 Lollipop

Earlier we saw the news that Android 5.1 will be coming to Android One devices. Now another report suggests that the Android One devices will get the Android 5.1 update even before the Nexus devices.

Android 5.1 will be a major bug fix release and will solve most the problems that are currently plaguing the devices. One major bug caused both the flashlight and camera apps of the Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 to stop functioning until a reboot was performed.

Detailed changelog of the Android 5.1 is:

  • Fixes to app termination bug
  • Fixes to the Wi-Fi not connecting issue
  • Improved battery management functionality
  • Comeback of the Silent Mode feature that was absent within Android 5.0
  • Issues in “OK Google” voice-command addressed
  • RAM management improved
  • Fixes to audio/multimedia-related problems
  • Wireless connectivity bugs fixed
  • Enhancements in notifications
  • Regular performance/stability improvements

Google has started to seed the Android 5.1 update and Android One and Nexus devices can expect to receive it any time now.
