7.0 Nougat

Android 7.0 Nougat is the next version of Android. Google have released five developer previews of Android 7.0 and now they have finally rolled out the official version for some Nexus and Android One devices.

“Android 7.0 Nougat will begin rolling out to users, starting with Nexus devices. At the same time, we’re pushing the Android 7.0 source code to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), extending public availability of this new version of Android to the broader ecosystem,” Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, Android, said in a statement.

Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will be the first of the Android-powered devices to get the new Android 7.0 Nougat. OTA’s have been rolled out as well as factory images are available on the Google website for manually installing Android Nougat.

To check if you have received Android Nougat, go to Settings >> About Phone >> Check System updates. If you have not received it, be patient or else there is always an option of installing it manually.
