Android L The owners of Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) are the lucky ones who might have got the taste of Android L as Google released a developer preview for these devices. Now Google has released source code of some other Nexus devices like the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 10. However, the source code released is just partial. When the source code was released for other Nexus devices, developers hoped that they could install the Android L preview on those devices. But this was not possible because the release includes only some GPL-licensed portions of the L preview source code, meaning that it can’t be used to compile working images.

But this release has given the information on the devices that will be given the Android L update by Google – Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10.

Google has a 18 month window for providing the official updates to the Nexus devices. Except the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013), other devices fall out of this window. But it is good to see that other Nexus devices will be getting this update.
