The biggest day of the year for Apple fans is here. Apple have officially announced the next gen iPhones – 6s and 6s Plus. The design of the phone has remained the same but you can find many subtle changes internally.
Lets start with the processing power of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Both the phones will be powered by Apple A9 chipset, which is said to boast 70% faster CPU performance and 90% GPU performance over the Apple A8. Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will also have 2GB RAM although Apple has not confirmed this.
Apple has also upgraded the camera to 12MP after many years of sticking to 8MP cameras. The front camera will be 5MP. The 12MP rear camera is capable of 4K recording.
The screen size of both the phones has remained same – iPhone 6s will be 4.7″ whereas iPhone 6s Plus will be 5.5″. However Apple has added the Force Touch technology of Macs in the new iPhones. Apple have renamed it to 3D Touch. This technology identifies how hard the screen is touched.
Using 3D Touch, you can perform lots of operations. On the homescreen, you can bring up shortcuts to the things you do most frequently, and you can even lightly press on your apps to get previews to the content or specific tasks within apps. Holding down longer can be used to pop into content, such as messages within an app, and the list goes on.
Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will run on the brand new iOS 9. The new iOS bring various new features – split-screen app modes for select devices, Apple Map improvements, a new “News” app, picture-in-picture video, Apple Pay improvements, and more.
iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be available in four colors – silver, gold, space gray, and rose gold. The 16GB iPhone 6s model will cost $199 on contract while 6s Plus will cost $299 for 16GB. For 64GB, the prices will be $100 more and for 128GB prices will further increase by $100.
The pre-orders for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will begin from 12th September and it will hit the stores from 25th September.
