Apple has started rolling out the iOS update 6.1.4. As seen in the version number, this update is not a major update to the previous version of the iOS.
In March, Apple had released the iOS 6.1.3 update to fix the bug that allowed anyone to bypass a password protected lock screen by following a few simple steps employing the use of the power and home button, and the phone’s emergency call feature. The update also brought improvements to Apple Maps in Japan and was available for iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S, iPhone 5, all iPads following iPad 2 and all iPod touch devices after the 4th generation iPod touch.
In the iOS update 6.1.4, Apple mentioned that it is related to an “Updated audio profile for speakerphone”. This essentially means that it makes changes related to how voice is delivered through the speakerphone during a call.
This update is only 11.5 MB in size which essentially says that it is a very minor update. Those who have jailbroken or installed the Cydia tweak might want to stay away from this update.
iOS 6.1.4 update is only for the iPhone 5 and not any other devices. iPhone 5 users can go to “Settings” and then to “Software Update” to download this over the air update. Or simply download it from the links given below and then install it via iTunes.
