In one of the most anticipated events of the year in the smartphone world, Apple has revealed the iPhone 6 in 2 sizes – 4.7″ and 5.5″. The bigger iPhone 6 is named as iPhone 6 Plus.
Now lets have a glance at the specs of the iPhone 6. The 4.7″ iPhone 6 offers a screen resolution of 1334 x 750 with 326 ppi while the iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 display, with an effective ppi rate of 401. Though both the devices dont have the QHD display, Apple fans will still be quite happy with the display.
The processor of both the iPhones is dual core with the 64 bit A8 chip. It will have an Imagination Series6 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Although these specs seem low for a high end Android device, Apple’s iOS 8 will help in effective utilization of the specs. The battery on the iPhone 6 is slightly larger than on the iPhone 5s, at 1,810 mAh.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will have 8MP camera with 1.5 micron pixels, f 2.2 aperture, and an “all-new sensor” and better software. The iPhone 6 Plus is coming with optical image stabilization, while the iPhone 6 will only have digital stabilization. OIS will bring clearer shots and steadier videos, and it’s a welcome addition to a camera that users have long appreciated.
iPhone 6 sees the continuation of the fingerprint scanner. Apple have added the NFC feature which will be used in a proprietary payment system called Apple Pay that Apple is setting up together with Visa, Mastercard, and other big names in the industry.
The main 4.7-inch model starts from $199 on contract (16GB), while the 5.5-inch design goes from $299. The device will be available from 19 September with preorders starting from 12 September.
