Blackberry’s next device will be powered by Android as they look to have another shot. This phone is internally called Blackberry Hamburg. It has received FCC certification meaning it will be launched in the coming days. Some rumours suggest the launch date is July 26.
Along with Blackberry Hamburg, another device will be launched – Blackberry Rome. BlackBerry CEO John Chen will reportedly discuss both devices during a live stream event on July 26.
We have some specs of Blackberry Hamburg. It will come with a 5.2″ screen with full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 chip featuring an octa-core processor and Adreno 405 graphics unit.
It will have 3GB of RAM and internal memory of 16GB. The rear camera will be 12MP while the front camera will be 8MP. It will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
All the above specs suggest that Hamburg will be a mid-range device. But knowing Blackberry’s pricing strategy, it might be quite expensive.
