At a special event hosted by Android and Chrome chief Sundar Pichai, Google officially announced the new Nexus 7, the much-anticipated successor to the old Nexus 7 model which was released last year.

Based on the released information, the following are the quick breakdown of the technical specifications of the new Nexus 7:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz Processor
  • 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB or 32GB onboard storage
  • 5.0MP rear, 1.2MP front camera
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 0.3-inches thin, 7.9″ x 4.5″
  • 16GB Wi-Fi ($229), 32GB Wi-Fi ($269), 64GB LTE ($349)

The revelation will also be launching in the UK, Japan, Germany, Canada, France, South Korea, Spain, and Australia over the coming weeks. It is understood that the device will be priced at $229 for a 16GB model, and $259 for the 32GB 7

The newly released disclosure is lighter, thinner and constitutes a smaller bezel than the original Nexus 7. The overall structure of the device has been implemented for portability aspects. It is no surprise we will also be presented with an unlocked LTE edition. Currently the surprise factor is that this revelation is a single model which will work on AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon’s 4G networks. It is construed that the LTE model will be available with 32GB of storage and costs $349. However according to reports, a release date for the same is yet to be announced and it is understood that the 16GB Nexus 7 will be priced at $229, while the 32GB model will be priced at $269.
