Google has started the development of the new Nexus tablet – the Nexus 8. This 8.9″ device will be manufactured by HTC and it is likely to rival the Kindle Fire tablets.
The new Nexus tablet will feature a Retina-busting screen with better-than-2K resolution. Similar to all the Nexus devices, this tablet will fall in the premium range with Google offering the high end specs around the $300 range price.
This Nexus tablet will likely be among the first devices to run Google’s upcoming new Android 5.0 operating system, which is expected by some to be unveiled during the annual Google I/O developer conference in June.
Some rumors also suggest that the Google Nexus 8 device will be powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Bay Trail-T chipset.
As stated earlier, HTC will be the only manufacturer of the Nexus 8 tablet and this tablet is expected to be released in later part of June or early July.
