Android Lollipop

Its been only a few days since official Android 5.0 was released for several devices. After encountering various bugs in the devices, Google has decided to roll out the minor 5.0.1 update which will fix some bugs but not all of them.

Some of the issues seen in the Android Lollipop include unexpected battery drains, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular data connectivity issues, among other performance problems including app crashes, startup and video playback issues.

Its not clear as to which bugs will be fixed with this update. Google has already uploaded the factory images of Android 5.0.1 for a few devices – Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus 10. But the update is expected for all the Nexus devices.

If you dont want to install the latest version using the factory image, you can always check for the OTA update. Go to Settings >> About phone >> Software updates >> Check now.
