Sony Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4″ full HD display. The device is powered by a quad core 2.2GHz Qualcomm processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and LTE connectivity. Pre-requisites and Backing up your Z Ultra:


  • Custom Recovery like CWM or TWRP installed
  • Root file

Steps to root Z Ultra:

  1. Create a Nandroid backup from recovery, in case anything goes wrong.
  2. Download the Root file and transfer it to the phone.
  3. Switch off the phone and boot the phone into Recovery mode.
  4. Next, wipe the cache and the dalvik cache.
  5. Now go to “Install zip” and then “Select zip”. Choose the Root file.
  6. Then perform full data wipe task. To do so, click “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”, then choose “Yes” on next screen to confirm.
  7. After the process is complete, reboot the phone.
