Samsung Galaxy A3 is a mid range smartphone with 4.50-inch 540×960 display. It is powered by 1.2GHz processor alongside 1GB RAM and 8MP rear camera. The front camera of this device is 5MP. The internal storage of Galaxy A3 is 16GB. It runs on Android 4.4 out of the box.

Samsung is rolling out the official Android 5.0.2 update for this device. It can be installed via the OTA update, KIES or via manual process. If you have not received the OTA, you can install it by following the process given below.

Steps to install Android 5.0.2 on Galaxy A3:

  1. Make a backup of your data.
  2. Extract the contents of Odin3 3.09.zip on your computer and install Odin on the PC.
  3. Turn off the phone and make sure it is not connected to the computer.
  4. Boot the phone into Download Mode by switching it off and then simultaneously pressing the Volume Down + the Home key button. While holding these both buttons, you need to switch on your device.
  5. Open Odin. Connect your phone to the computer and allow the drivers to install. You will see the “Added!!” message on Odin. If it doesn’t appear, make sure you have properly installed the USB drivers for your phone.
  6. In the Odin Menu, make sure to check the Auto-Reboot and F.Reset options.
  7. Download the firmware zip file on the computer. Extract it and you will get a file with .tar.md5 extension.
  8. Click the AP button in Odin and select the file extracted in the previous step. Do not make any unnecessary changes on Odin.
  9. Click the Start button in Odin and wait for a few moments.
  10. Phone will automatically reboot. Done !
