Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo comes with a 4.80-inch 720×1280 display powered by 1.2GHz processor alongside 1.5GB RAM and 8-megapixel rear camera. It came along with Android 4.3. Samsung has started to roll out the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for this device. The new KitKat update is now available for download via OTA as well as through Samsung KIES in select Asian countries. If your region has not yet received this update, you can install it manually. Follow the instructions given below.

Steps to install Android 4.4.4 on Galaxy S3 Neo:

  1. Make a backup of your data.
  2. Extract the contents of Odin3 3.09.zip on your computer and install Odin on the PC.
  3. Turn off the phone and make sure it is not connected to the computer.
  4. Boot the phone into Download Mode by switching it off and then simultaneously pressing the Volume Down + the Home key button. While holding these both buttons, you need to switch on your device.
  5. Open Odin. Connect your phone to the computer and allow the drivers to install. You will see the “Added!!” message on Odin. If it doesn’t appear, make sure you have properly installed the USB drivers for your phone.
  6. In the Odin Menu, make sure to check the Auto-Reboot and F.Reset options.
  7. Download the firmware zip file on the computer. Extract it and you will get a file with .tar.md5 extension.
  8. Click the AP button in Odin and select the file extracted in the previous step. Do not make any unnecessary changes on Odin.
  9. Click the Start button in Odin and wait for a few moments.
  10. Phone will automatically reboot. Done !
