HTC will soon launch a new budget smartphone – HTC Desire 200. It is designed to compete in the low end market.
Built around a 3.5″ LCD display of 320 x 480 pixels resolution, the HC Desire 200 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 chipset with single-core 1GHz CPU and 512MB of RAM. The internal memory is just 4GB, but thankfully it is expandable via the on-board microSD card slot.
The battery is a 1230mAh one, with HTC promising that it will last you through up to 10.9 hours of GSM talk time and up to 7.4 hours in WCDMA and also 812 hours of stand-by.
At the back, the Desire 200 has a 5MP, f/2.8 fixed focus camera with 34mm lens that supports VGA video recording.
HTC Desire 200 will also have it’s Sense skin on top of the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. HTC Desire 200 will also have the Beats Audio music enhancement.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB and GPS. There’s a trio of sensors, too – accelerometer, proximity and ambient light.
With the HTC Desire 200, HTC has shown that it also cares for it’s low end customers. The price as well as the availability of the HTC Desire 200 is not known yet.
