HTC announced One M9 earlier this year and since then they have not launched many devices that stand out. This will change as HTC has just announced the One A9 and it becomes the first device outside of Nexus and Android One to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
One thing to note is that HTC One A9 is not a flagship since this is a mid-range device. It has an all-metal unibody design, similar to what we’ve seen in past HTC phones like the One M9, M8 or M7.
HTC One A9 will have a 5.0-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, along with 2 or 3GB of RAM. 2GB of RAM model comes with 16GB of on-board storage, while the 3GB of RAM variant comes with 32GB of internal memory. Both are expandable up to 2TB memory.
HTC One A9 features a 13MP rear-facing camera with a sapphire glass lens cover, optical image stabilization (OIS), auto-focus, hyperlapse video support and the ability to shoot in RAW. The front camera is 4MP.
Other features included a fingerprint sensor, 24-bit, 192KHz high-resolution audio and a dedicated headphone amplifier, LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB connectivity and a 2150 mAh battery.
HTC One A9 will be available in Opal Silver, Carbon Gray and Deep Garnet colours. The 16GB/2GB RAM model will cost $399.99. HTC One A9 can be pre-ordered from HTC.com.
