HTC has launched the smaller and cheaper version of the HTC One M8 and it goes by the name HTC One Mini 2. This device will come in the mid range category and will have lower specifications.
The HTC One Mini 2 will have a 4.5″ display of 720p resolution (326 ppi pixel density). It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset featuring a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU. The internal storage of the device is 16 GB and it will come with an expandable memory card slot.
The camera is a drastic change from the HTC One M8. HTC has dropped the Ultrapixel technology for this device. The rear camera of the One Mini 2 is 13MP with a BSI sensor and an f/2.2 lens. The front camera is 5 MP and both the cameras are capable of recording full HD videos.
HTC Mini One 2 comes with the LTE connectivity with other regular features like GPS and GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 (atpX enabled), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.1n and microUSB 2.0. HTC says the smartphone can last for 16 hours of 3G talk time on its 2,100 mAh battery.
The device will be released in EMEA and North Asia in June in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold color options. The price is expected to be lower than the original HTC One Mini.
