Huawei’s popularity is on a all time high due to Nexus 6P. Their market share is increasing day by day and they have launched another high end device to capitalise on it. Huawei have launched Mate 8 which is successor to last year’s Mate 7.
Huawei Mate 8 features a 6-inch Full HD display. It is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 950 processor which features four Cortex-A72 and four Cortex A53 CPU cores, combined with a Mali-T880 GPU. There will be 3/4GB of RAM.
There’s also an i5 coprocessor that “supports speech recognition, low-power consumption MP3, all the functions of a sensor hub, fused location provider (FLP) navigation, and reduces location-based power consumption,” the company said in a press release. The SoC is manufactured using TSMC’s 16 nm FinFET process.
Huawei Mate 8 has 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. It has a huge 4,000mAh battery. Most importantly, it will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Huawei Mate 8 will be available in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray, and Mocha Brown colours. 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, and 4GB/128GB variants are priced at around $480, $590, and $700, respectively. It is already available in China.
