Sony is believed to release a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Note series with the Sony Xperia ZU where U stands for Ultra. Previously known as Togari, the specifications of the Xperia ZU have been leaked.
Sony Xperia ZU will have a monster 6.4″ display with the X-Reality technology for mobile. It is the advanced version of the Bravia Engine and it betters the Xperia Z’s Bravia 2 based display. Xperia ZU will also have a new type of touchscreen sensor, allowing the smartphone to detect input from a finger, stylus, pencil, even from a paintbrush.
Sony Xperia ZU is also rumored to have a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, clocked at a cool 2.2 GHz and an 8 MP Exmor RS back facing camera with a 2.2 MP front facing camera. The dimensions of the Xperia ZU will be 179.2 x 92 x 6.5mm. And it will run on the Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.
Following the lines of it’s latest flagship Sony Xperia Z, the Sony Xperia ZU is also rumored to be a water and dust resistant device and will tip the scales at 212g.
If all the rumors turn out to be true, then we have a great device in the making and Xperia ZU can be expected to give a stiff competition to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the soon to arrive Galaxy Note 3.
