The CyanogenMod ROMs are one of the most popular and widely used ROMs in the Android world. Their features and tweaks are highly appreciated in the Android community and there have been many attempts by other developers to port those to the various Android devices. One such feature that has caught the eyes of CM users is the cLock. And thankfully this has now been made available for all devices running any ROM by CyanogenMod UI and Experience Team Developer DvTonder.
The CyanogenMod cLock is a home and lockscreen widget. It displays time, weather and calendar event information in the form of a beautiful interface. The user can choose between analog or digital clock and also decide whether to display alarms or not. The user also has the option to decide whether the clock, date and alarm should be displayed in bold or normal text. It uses Yahoo! weather for displaying the weather information and the user can also choose between colour or monochrome weather icons.
The calender panel displays a scrolling list of upcoming events and tapping on any event opens the calender at that event. Tapping the calender icon opens the calender at today’s date. The user also has the option to change the font colour of all the text in any panel.
The app comes as a simple apk file which can be easily installed from a file manager.
- Download the cLock APK file and copy it to your SD card.
- Make sure you have enabled installation of non-Play Store applications. If not, you can enable it by going to Settings -> Application Settings -> Unknown Sources.
- Open Root Explorer and navigate to the file that you just copied.
- Tap it and install the app. Done!
