Google I/O was held a couple of days back and many announcements were made – Android TV, Google Auto, but the major and the most exciting announcement was the new Android version which Google has named Android L, at least for now.
Android L will have one of the major overhauls in the Android OS since Android ICS was released three years ago. Some of the new features to be included in this version of Android are – Material Design, improved notifications, better battery life, Google Fit, ART runtime which will replace the Dalvik, better web integration and so on.
Android L will bring a host of new things. Good news for the Nexus 5 and Nexus &7 (2013) WiFi users is that the factory images of the Android L are available for their devices.
This factory images will not contain all the features of the Android L and it might have some bugs. But you will get a great preview of the Android L before it is released.
