Android 5.1.1 update has been released for the Nexus player as well as the Nexus tablets. The smartphones are yet to receive it. This could happen in this week with the Nexus 5 scheduled to get it in the coming days.

Sprint’s Nexus 5 support page shows the device running Android 5.1.1 with build number LMY48B. As the image has been leaked, we can expect it officially in a few days. Sprint says that its Nexus 5 will get Android 5.1.1’s bug fixes and security enhancements.

Android 5.1.1 is a small bug fix update that’s aimed at alleviating lingering Lollipop problems and some of the problems plaguing Nexus users on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Along with the Nexus 5, Nexus 4 will also receive it but there is no official confirmation on the same.

Android Lollipop has brought about a lot of changes but it has been plagued with annoying bugs. Google has tried to solve it thus far but some of the bugs still remain. Lets see if this update will solve any of the issues.
