Asus today has unveiled a new range of multicoloured smartphones called the ZenFone. These revelations will arrive in 4, 5 and 6-inch versions. The devices run Android 4.3 and are expected to receive KitKat upgrade. These handsets constitute large screens, big batteries, IPS displays with PixelMaster technology.
Asus plans to cater to different ends of the market by releasing various models depending on user’s choices. The ZenFone 6 is expected to be the torch bearer for competing with rival competitors, being the flagship model amongst the other category of devices. The device will feature a 6-inch 1280 x 720 IPS display and weighs 200g. It will be powered by an Intel Atom Z2580 processor clocking at 2GHz. Also, the handset will constitute 1GB of RAM and packs in a 3230mAh battery. The Asus ZenFone 6 will possess a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera.
The Asus ZenFone 5 sports a 5-inch screen with the same resolution as that of its successor. Juxtaposing the technical specifications, these are the differences that come into sight. This device packs in a 2050mAh battery and has an 8-megapixel rear camera. The Asus ZenFone 5 weighs 144g and measures 10.3mm.
Last but not the least, the Asus ZenFone 4 happens to the handset that caters to the affordable range of devices. The device features a 4-inch 800 x 480 resolution screen and is powered by Intel Atom Z2520 processor clocking at 1.2GHz. Additionally the device packs in a 1170mAh battery and features 5-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera. The device weighs 115g and measures 11.2mm thick.
Considering the competitive smartphone market, Asus has taken positive strides in announcing several devices, thereby variety with respect to choices for the consumers. The Asus ZenFone 6 is priced at $199, with the ZenFone 5 priced at $149 and the Asus ZenFone 4 priced at $99 (£60) respectively. However, at present there is no information released on when these devices will go on sale.
