It is a well known fact that Blackberry are working on an Android device. Now Blackberry have made an official announcement for the same as a part of Blackberry’s quarterly results report for Q2 FY 2016. Blackberry Priv, codenamed Venice, will be launched before this year ends.
“Priv combines the best of Blackberry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform,” said BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen. The device promises “best in class security for enterprise customers,” as part of the company’s “heritage and core mission of protecting our customers’ privacy.”
Blackberry Priv will feature a 5.4-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) pixel display, Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB RAM. Priv will feature a 20MP camera.
Blackberry have made all the right noises till now for its first Android device. It looks good on paper. This device will have major consequences for the Blackberry handsets section. If it fails, then Blackberry will have no hope of lasting.
