Last year, Oppo launched the R5 which turned a few heads as it was a very slim device – 4.85mm thick. It was a good device but it had some issues like poor battery life, a sub-par camera experience, and software bugs. Now Oppo have announced its successor and it will be called Oppo R5s.
As the name suggests, this phone is not a major upgrade to last year’s device. Oppo have tried to fine tune some of the problems in this device.
Most of the specs of this device have remained the same – 5.2″ Full HD AMOLED display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, the 13-megapixel rear Sony camera sensor/5-megapixel front camera, and a 2,000mAh battery.
Oppo has increased the RAM from 2GB to 3GB and the internal storage from 16GB to 32GB. One negative thing which will affect prospective buyers is the Android OS – Oppo R5s will still run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Oppo R5s will be available in Grey colour and it will be priced at $220.
