Earlier, Qualcomm announced Quick Charge 2.0 using which your device can be charged from 0% to 60% in around 30 minutes. This was a boon and now Qualcomm are not resting on their laurels, they have announced Quick Charge 3.0 which will charge the devices 4x faster.

According to Qualcomm, Quick Charge 1.0 is 40% faster than conventional charging, Quick Charge 2.0 managed to be 75% faster. Now Quick Charge 3.0 will be double the speed of Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% faster than Quick Charge 2.0.

One might ask what is new in Quick Charge 3.0. Here, Qualcomm have used INOV technology (Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage) on its rapid charging processes. This new algorithm can help devices determine how much voltage they should request.

Quick Charge 2.0 only allowed voltages of 5V, 9V, 10V and 20 V. However Quick Charge 3.0 allows voltages from 3.6V and 20V and also every 200mV increment between them.

Quick Charge 3.0 will be available in all next gen Qualcomm chips. Quick Charge 3.0 will charge the phone from 0% to 80% in just 25 minutes!
