Android 4.4.2 On Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung have started rolling out the latest Android 4.4.2 version firmware for their devices, starting with the International Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005). It is the Snapdragon powered variant of the Galaxy Note 3 (both GSM and LTE) and the rollout has started in Poland where it is being made available via Kies.

The update brings about UI changes adhering to Google’s policy for the Android KitKat update of having white icons on translucent status bar. As a result, the Gingerbread styled green icons have now made way for beautiful white ones, although the toggles in the┬ánotification dropdown still remain green.

Along with the UI changes, the update also improves performance with faster device unlocking and higher benchmark scores. There are also some changes to the lockscreen, with there now being a camera shortcut on it. The lockscreen also displays the album art in full screen while playing music.

As is always the case, the update will be rolled out in stages, with the unlocked versions getting it before the carrier variants. If you have already received the update, do comment below and give us your views about it.
