Samsung have officially announced Galaxy Note 7 and there are no surprises at all. Couple of days ago, we published the leaked details of Note 7 and the specs are exactly the same.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 design has remained the same as its predecessors. It has a glass front and back panels and an aluminium frame. Galaxy Note 7 has only one variant this time and it has dual edge curve.
As for specs, most of them have remained the same as Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It has a 5.7″ QHD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by Quad-core 64-bit (2.15GHz Dual + 1.6GHz Dual) Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 GPU. Some markets will have Note 7 powered by Exynos processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM.
The internal memory of Note 7 is 64GB and it can be expanded up to 2TB with the use of microSD card. It has a dual pixel 12MP rear sensor with OIS, f/1.7 aperture while the front camera is 5MP. It will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The battery capacity of Note 7 is 3,500mAh which is lesser than both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. But Samsung says it can actually achieve a full charge in the same time it takes to charge the standard S7. It also supports fast charging as it has USB Type-C port.
Samsung’s home button doubles up as the fingerprint sensor. Samsung have included an iris scanner this time around. It uses the infrared scanner on the front of your device to search for your eyes.
Samsung Galaxy Note’s signature S-Pen has been continued in Note 7. This time it has a new feature – capture a 15-second GIF that can be easily shared to other services.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is available in plenty of colour options – Silver, Gold Platinum, Blue Coral and Black Onyx. It will be available for pre-order from August 3 and will ship from August 19. Pricing details have not been revealed yet.
