The folks from SamMobile have leaked out the specifications of what is supposed to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini (SM-G800). The leak boasts of much upgraded specs as compared to its predecessor from last year, the Galaxy S4 Mini.
The Galaxy S5 Mini will reportedly sport a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera and a 2100 mAh battery. It will be powered by a Snapdragon processor and though the exact model number is not known, SamMobile claims it will probably be a quad-core Snapdragon 400 one.
Further features include an IR blaster and Android 4.4 KitKat as the OS. According to SamMobile’s sources, it will also be water-resistant just like the Galaxy S5, but there are no details regarding the heart rate and fingerprint sensor.
These specifications reveal a major upgrade over those of the Galaxy S4 Mini which had a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960, 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 8 MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front-facing camera and a 1900 mAh battery.
There’s no info on the pricing and release date of the Galaxy S5 Mini, although previous reports suggest a June launch.
