According to reports released by The Korea Herald, it has been revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 won’t feature a curved display. This development is due to the fact that a curved display will amount to certain production limitations. Industry sources have reported that presently the current capacity for flexible panels isn’t that great that it can be reproduced onto the Galaxy S5 the coming year. It is regarded that smartphones featuring curved displays will be launched next year as Galaxy variants next year, according to reports released by an analyst at Seoul-based Eugene Investment & Securities.
With lowdowns released from various quaters, it has been brought to notice that Samsung’s current production can amass a huge pile load of 8,000 5.5-generation sheets per month for producing up to 500,000 flexible panels for smartphones. This amounts to a 30 percent yield which illustratively doesnt highlight the amount of Galaxy smartphones that are manufactured. Samsung continues to unveil newer devices with growing regularity and the announcement of newer models will continue to launch devices to gain a foothold in the already competitive Android smartphone market.
Based on rumors, it is understood that Samsung plans to release a sucessor to the Galaxy Round. It remains to be seen whether curved displays catch up to be the trend with which smartphones are unveiled.
