Sony introduced the trend of making the flagship devices waterproof. Since then, many manufacturers have followed suit. But there are some manufacturers which make a different variant for the waterproof one. Samsung is one of them and they are planning for a waterproof Galaxy S6.
The waterproof version of the S6 will be named as Galaxy S6 Active. It will have the same rugged design of the previous Active devices with 3 physical buttons.
The specs of the Active version will be almost the same as flagship device – 5.1in QHD screen (1440 x 2560), Samsung’s own Exynos octa-core processor, and a 16-megapixel rear camera plus 5MP camera on the front.
One thing that will be different is the battery capacity. Samsung has decided to increase the battery capacity of this device to 3,500mAh which is more than S6 as well as Galaxy Note 4.
There is no official word from Samsung regarding the S6 Active but you can expect it in the second half of 2015.
