In January, Samsung revealed plans to release a device for educational purposes. And after some months, Samsung have come up with a tablet for US schools – Galaxy Tab 4 Education. The tablet is aimed for the K-12 schools.
The Galaxy Tab 4 Education is based on the Galaxy Tab 4. It will have a 10.1″ WXGA screen (1,280) covered with Gorilla Glass, a quad-core processor at 1.2GHz, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, 16GB of built-in storage plus a microSD card slot. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz on top.
Samsung have also added the multi window feature in this tab so that kids can simultaneously study and add notes. Along with this, this device comes with a tough exterior as rough handling is expected from the kids.
Google offers a web console (asking $30 per device) that allows school IT personnel to quickly set up a large number of tablets. Galaxy Tab 4 Education is priced at $370.
