HTC One has the new Sense 5 firmware. Sense 5 has many new features like the BlinkFeed, Sense TV, Zoe Camera etc. Along with these, Quick Settings was also added, which containes all the important toggles for the phone. This is very useful since many toggles are scattered at different places in the Settings app in most Android phones.
XDA Forum Member laehmic has managed to port this Quick Settings app of Sense 5 into the devices running on Android 2.2 and above (Froyo and above). Quick Settings has many useful toggles at one place like Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Mobile Data, Auto Brightness, etc. It is a handy little app since the most of the devices on stock ROMs do not have the ability to customize the status bar. It should be noted that this app is not a Status Bar replacement, but rather a separate application. This presents most of the same shortcuts and functionality that you normally access.
The Quick Settings app is still in the beta stage. All the things in this app don’t work. The user might experience force close on some devices. The developer mentions that at this point, there are certain toggles that are not yet interactive such as the GPS, ADB, and mobile data, but these toggles show the current state of the service. This version of the app is for the non-root users too. The developer is soon going to launch a root only version which will have all the functions working without any issues.
The Quick Settings app is not yet released on the Google Play Store. You can download it from here. The link provides an apk file. Just enable the unknown sources on your device and install it using any file manager.
