Android 5.0 brought about a complete overhaul which resulted into a much needed freshness. However it also came with some problems – memory leak being the most glaring one. Android 5.1.1 solved this problem but there are many Sony devices which have not received this update yet. Sony are willing to skip this update altogether.
Sony’s software support page has indicated that many of Sony devices will directly receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. This means a longer wait for the Sony users to get the fix for the bugs.
A lot of devices like Xperia Z3+, Z4 Tablet, C4, C5 Ultra, M4 Aqua and M5 won’t receive another software update until Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolls out to these devices.
On the flip side, Sony users will receive the Android 6.0 much sooner than expected. Its such kind of news which will make the users wonder whether to be happy with it or be sad. Stay tuned for more updates from Sony!
