Famed leaker @evleaks has leaked out the specifications of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, the upcoming successor to the Xperia Z tablet which was launched around this time last year. The device is speculated to be officially announced by Sony at the Mobile World Congress which is to be held in Barcelona next week. However, its specs have already been leaked by the serial leaker on twitter.
According to @evleaks, the tablet will be powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 3 GB RAM. It will have a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 “Triluminos” display, 16 GB internal storage along with microSD card slot, an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. Additional specs include a 6000 mAh battery, 6.4 mm thickness and Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The new tablet thus features almost the same specifications as its predecessor, baring the processor, the RAM, the thickness and of course the OS version. The Xperia Z tablet had a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2 GB RAM, was 6.9 mm thick and ran on Android 4.1.2 initially which was later upgradable to Android 4.3 with an Android 4.4 update in the plans.
The Xperia Z2 will also be waterproof like the previous one. There are currently no clear details as to its launch date, however, it is expected to be officially unveiled by Sony at the WMC next week.
