According to reports from Cnet, it is understood that Sony will be releasing the next-generation SmartWatch sooner than later. The Smartwatch will encompass a larger screen than the currently available one(having 1.3-inch OLED display) and will possess NFC for one-touch pairing with Smartphones.
Reports hint that this innovation will be running on Android and will sport a capacitive touchscreen. This is in accordance with the features and specs based on the predecessor. Several tidings also report that the SmartWatch will be minimally water-resistant. This model is expected to be announced this week at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 trade show in Beijing.
Currently Sony’s SmartWatch is priced around $100 dollars and at present there is no information on whether the successor will be priced in this same price segment.
It is construed that the watch will constitute a three icon layout that will be manifested underneath the capacitive touchscreen. Apart from these usual characteristics, it is regarded that the SmartWatch will have NFC for facilitating easy pairing with Smartphones. This particularized connection will be sustained via Bluetooth. As of now no information has been revealed on the internal specifications, but this info should arrive shortly as it is only a matter of time before this unveilment makes its arrival in the Mobile Asia Expo.
