Developers file petition to Sony to release Jellybean Camera Drivers for Xperia 2011 series

Sony’s Xperia 2011 series has one of the strongest Developer community among all other Sony Xperia Lineups. Though Sony has curbed the support for Xperia 2011 lineup the developers have been successful in bringing about fully functioning Jellybean 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 for Xperia 2011 phones. This all done without any help from Sony. Thought these developers have been successful in getting these custom ROMs to achieve stability they still have to use legacy camera in the Xperia 2011 phones and cannot exploit the features of Jellybean 4.2 camera app due to lack of “Official JB Camera Drivers”.

Jellybean has proven to be a vast improvement over ICS as most Jellybean users have experienced. The performance, the smoothness, the functionality all are a level above ICS. So why wouldn’t everyone want a taste of Jellybean. All Xperia 2011 users are in luck as the Xperia division of CyanogenMod team – FXP(Free Xperia Project) team haven’t yet abandoned you. CM 10 was in the alpha stage for a very long time for the Xperia 2011 series, but it finally has reached a much more usable release. Most of the bugs are fixed except a select few which can be neglected over the overall better performance. Users of Xperia Ray are especially lucky as this excellent piece of hardware works excellent with CM10.

Sony Xperia 2011 devices to receive Jelly Bean update

Sony has made a name for rolling out regular updates for the entire line up of devices, unlike its competitors like Samsung which hasn’t released ICS for any phones except a select few like Galaxy S2, S3, Note, etc. Jellybean though not a complete overhaul of ICS is more of an performance upgrade than a full fledged OS. However the performance of JB is much better as compared to ICS due to some architectural changes in the OS.
