Ever wished that you could take screenshots of your screen on your android device? Screenshot is basically taking a picture of the current state of your screen. Screenshots are often useful when you wish to share your beautiful home screen with others or want to win a bet that you placed with a friend or many such reasons.

There are several apps available on the Google Play store that allow you to take screenshot of your screen. However most of these Apps require root access.(if you are new to android device know more about root in this article.)

After a long search for the best Screenshot apps I shortlisted two apps one for with root access and one without root access.

ScreenShot Free (with Root access)

ScreenShot Free

This is a free app developed by “debugman”. It is a no restriction free app. It has various methods to click screenshots, which include:

  • Delayed Screenshot
  • Click Notification to take Screenshot
  • Click floating bar to take a Screenshot

It is a hassle free screenshot app which does what it says ave extremely reliable.

No Root Screenshot It (without Root access)

No Root Screenshot It

It is a pioneer in it’s category. No other app provides you with screenshot without root access, period. But like all good things, it comes with a price and that too a hefty one. It is a paid-only app which costs $4.99! It is a huge price to pay for an app that takes screenshots, but if you are not willing to Root your android device and need the screenshot feature the price is worth it, because it is an extremely reliable app.

This app requires some setup before you start snapping screenshots. When you launch the app for the first time you get an option to select Windows or Mac as the operating system of your desktop/laptop to setup the app and will be asked to connect your device to the PC. It is a one time setup and barely takes 2-3 minutes to complete the setup. Once done you are all ready to click screenshots.
