Xiaomi came to prominence last year with a series of devices offering wonderful specs at a very reasonable price. Xiaomi have decided to expand their portfolio and announced two new devices – Redmi 2 and the MiPad.

Xiaomi MiPad

MiPad has a 7.9-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and a pixel density of 324 ppi. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU. It has 2GB of RAM.

The MiPad has a 8MP rear camera with a Sony BSI sensor along with a 5MP front-facing camera. It will run on Android 4.4.4. The battery capacity is 6,700mAh. Internal storage is 16GB with 128GB expandable microSD card slot. The price of MiPad is INR 12,999.

Xiaomi Redmi 2

The Redmi 2 is the successor to the Redmi 1S. It has a 4.7″ display with a resolution of 720×1280. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor and 1GB of RAM. There are some limited edition Redmi 2 which will have 2GB of RAM.

The primary camera of Redmi 2 is 8MP with a 2MP secondary camera. The internal storage is 8GB which can be expanded up to 32GB. It will also run on Android 4.4. Redmi 2 is priced at INR 6,999.
