Xiaomi have officially unveiled Redmi 3, their latest entrant in the smartphone lineup. It is the first phone of the year from Xiaomi and falls in the low-end category. But looking at the specs, it does not seem like its a low-end device.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 has a 5″ display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa-core (1.5Ghz ARM Cortex A53 quad-core + 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A53 quad-core) CPU with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
The rear camera is 13MP with 5-physical lens, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), HDR, full HD video recording, 0.1 second phase focusing speed while front camera is 5MP with f/2.2 aperture, full HD video recording ability, face-recognition feature, 36-intelligent self-portrait selfie styles
Additionally Redmi 3 has metal body and it has a huge battery of 4,100mAh. Redmi 3 also has quick charging but Xiaomi have not revealed in depth details. The internal storage of this device is 16GB which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 with MIUI 7.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be available in classic gold, fashion gold, fashion grey and fashion silver colors. It is priced at $107 and will be available in stores in China from January 12.
